Monday 19.7.21

Good morning everyone.

Today we have a few little activities to complete.

English

Could you please write a short letter to your new Year 5 teacher. Follow the example below. We've put a structure below that too. You can write the letter out on paper, or you can use Word online to do this letter, but if you have some other software, feel free to do so.

Dear Mrs Harden / Mr Williams,

My name is Jill and I will be in your class next year. You might have taught my big brother, Steve. He was in Year 6 last year. I'm obviously much better behaved.

I really enjoy maths and art, although I'm not the best of painters. I love PE and I play in a football team outside of school where I am the goalkeeper. My team are called AllStars United and we play on Saturday morning.

I'm a little bit worried about the English activities as Steve said that the learning is much harder in Year 5. Is this true? I'm looking forward to computing and learning about the news topics we have in Year 5.

Finally, are we allowed to bring our own pencil cases into school? I have a few Smiggle ones that I keep my main pens and pencils in.

I hope that you have a wonderful summer.

Best wishes,

Jill Truepenny

Greeting,

Let them know who you are and why you are writing to them.

Tell them a little bit about yourself, including your favourite subject and some of your favourite things to do outside of school.

Tell them anything you are excited or concerned about being in Year 5.

If you have any questions, you can ask them at the end.

Sign off the letter and put your name at the end.

Maths

Spend some time today playing TTRockstars please and we have a Maths Mystery to have a go at too.
