Burrington Estates

Burrington Estates New Homes has announced the name of a new nature trail in Manadon Park following a competition with pupils at Manadon Vale who were invited to name a woodland walk surrounding the developer’s largest development in the city, The Quarters.

The Heart of Oak Nature Trail was officially opened last week at a ribbon cutting ceremony. Olivia Green was awarded first prize for her name ‘Heart of Oak’, winning a £50 Waterstones voucher. Two runners up, Mckenzie Hyatt who submitted the name “Maritime Walk” and Isaac Briggs who put forward “Mayflower Walk”, received a £20 and £10 Waterstones voucher respectively.

Olivia went on to cut the ribbon on site to reveal an engraved plaque with her family from school present, as well as some of the Burrington Estates New Homes team. The children then visited the Burrington Butterfly Garden, which has been created to encourage butterflies to the local area.
