Manadon Vale’s policy for special educational needs aims to provide all children with equal access to the resources and opportunities available in school.

We have a clear identification and assessment procedure.  Parents are involved and informed as it often requires their practical support.  A SENCO is employed for 2 ½ days each week to coordinate the provision for children with special educational needs.

All Plymouth schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and are supported by the LA to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs and disabilities, make the best possible progress in school. All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with SEND being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.

At Manadon Vale Primary School, we embrace the fact that every child is different, and, therefore, the educational needs of every child are different. This is certainly the case for children with SEND as well as those who are considered gifted and talented. Please see the school website for more information about how we can support your child at our school through our SEND Information report.
