Sport Premium

2022/2023 Sports Premium Budget

Previous Sports Premiums

The information above is reflective of how Manadon Vale Primary school spent the Primary PE and Sport Premium awarded in this academic year and plans for next year. The key areas that we have identified are based on the following vision and objective set by the Government; Department for Education Vision for the Primary PE and Sport Premium which state:

“All pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.”

Their objective is: “To achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and sport in primary schools. It is important to emphasise that the focus of spending must lead to long lasting impact against the vision that will live on well beyond the Primary PE and Sport Premium funding.”

We have used the key indicators set by the Government to inform our decisions on how to spend the funding and to help us to assess the impact on pupils’ PE and sport participation and attainment.

Our objectives are:

  1. To increase the engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity, promoting healthy, active lifestyles and supporting the whole school drive for healthy minds and bodies
  2. To raise the profile of PE and sport across the school and develop a love of physical activity
  3. To increase confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
  4. To broaden the experience of children in a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
  5. To increase participation in competitive sport

The Government also specify what information is required to be published by each school in receipt of the Primary PE and Sport Premium. You must include

  • How much PE and sport premium funding you received for this academic year
  • A full breakdown of how you’ve spent or will spend the funding this year
  • The effect of the premium on pupils’ PE and sport participation and attainment
  • How you will make sure these improvements are sustainable
