Summer 2 Week 5 - 29.06.2020

Mrs Ryder's Assembly 29.6.20

This week we would like you to learn about the Victorian writer, Edward Lear. Follow the instructions on the below PDF. The first part of the learning asks you to read two very different biography pieces on Edward Lear. Which do you like best? Have a think why? You are then asked to think of questions that you would like to know about him. This reminds me of what we did in class in the Spring term for our Fantastic Women topic. Try to really think about these questions. Section 2 asks you to complete a likes, dislikes and patterns about one of Lear's most famous poems, The Owl and the Pussycat. When we do this we also complete 'puzzles' which covers questions that we have about a piece of writing, you can do this as well if you like. The last section is writing about your own magical journey, now we have had practice about writing about journeys in the last few weeks but this is a MAGICAL journey, try and do it in the style of Edward Lear. You can write is as a story or a poem whatever you wish. As always ask an adult at home to take a picture and send to us and we will upload to the blog. Good luck!!
