Phonics - Lesson 49

Today's new digraph is u-e, huge brute

Today is World Book Day 2021!  Normally we would be celebrating in school with a fancy dress day and a raft of activities and challenges to promote reading.  Clearly,  this is not possible this year and it also hasn't been possible to have the Scholastic Book fair visit .  The fair,  which generates income for the school to spend on new books,  will return next year in time for WBD 2022!  Each child is entitled to a £1 book token which will be sent home as soon as possible.  Those in school will have theirs in their book bag some time this week and those who are not back until the 8th will receive theirs as soon as they return.  The £1 book tokens can be used to purchase £1 books in most of the big supermarkets or they can be used as a money off voucher (please see details on the back of the voucher for more information)

Today in English,  we want you to stop and enjoy a story.  You can read your favourite book at home together or you can click on the link below to the WBD website which has a number of audio books for you to enjoy.

The WBD website has a wealth of activities that you may wish to explore.  Above all please spend some time today reading and enjoying books together.

We have popped a couple of other resources below that you might want to use.

In today's Maths, for the MILD challenge please answer questions 1 and 2,  for the SPICY challenge please complete questions 1,  2 and 3 and for the HOT challenge please answer all the questions (1-4).
