Maths

Today we are looking at a very similar activity to yesterday. Watch the video then complete the activity.

We only need to describe the translation in term of Left or Right and Up or Down.

In this example, you can describe it as simply as 6 right, 4 up.

PSHE

This is a little trickier than in class as we normally spend time discussing the questions and activities. You may have an adult that you can talk to about the questions on the PDF. This links nicely into what we were doing in class with our plastic pollution writing task.

In this lesson, the teacher recaps the plural rules that were introduced in yesterday's lesson. She then goes through some really useful spelling strategies that you can put in to practice, finishing off with a mini test on the spellings from yesterday. These weren't spellings that we expected you to learn as they are more of a recap of your understanding of plural rules. We will be introducing more of these rules in tomorrow's lesson. As this is a short and straightforward lesson, there is a Euro's 2020 themed reading comprehension below for you try. :-) Great result last night! 

 

For the reading comprehension, have a look through and see which one you feel most confident with. Don't be tempted to look at the answers. They are for looking at, AFTER!

Geography

 

This lesson continues on with our coasts learning. Go through the PDF labelled 'Investigating Coasts Slide4' thinking about what beaches you have been to. Where were they? Can you point them out on a map? What did you do there? Think about the physical and human features you can see at the different beaches. Remember a physical feature is naturally occurring like cliffs and a human feature is manmade like a pier. Think about the differences between sand and shingle beaches. Once you have read through the slide pack have a go at the task...

 

Task - All

 

Have a look at the PDF titled 'Investigating Coasts Work4'. Look at the different beach fact cards. Use the postcard template if you have a printer or if not on some paper to write two postcards. One postcard from a shingle beach and one from a sandy beach. Explain the activities available at the beach and what physical and human features you can see. 

 

Hot challenge - read all of the beach fact cards and then decide which beaches you would like to visit most and why.  

Mindfulness

 

I wanted to find a Cosmic Kids football themed yoga session for you all to do as part of today's home learning as the country is football crazy at the moment however I came across this. 4C LOVE this as our warm up for our dance lessons and I have some lovely memories of us dancing to this in the hall so here it is! It's a fun dance routine with a celebration feel to it. Enjoy!
