Can I do an observational drawing of a plant?
If possible have a plant in front of you which has been taken out of the ground, or out of its pot, so that you can see all of it, including the roots. If you can't dig one up, draw it where it is growing, in your garden or in the park. Look at it very carefully and draw what you see. Does it have 1 stem or many? Where do the leaves come from? (they are not always just at the bottom of the stem) What size and shape are the leaves? What shape is the flower? (if it has one)
You may be able to draw a number of different plants. Below are some drawings of plants, done by adults, to show you the sort of picture you will be doing. Just look carefully at your plant/s and have a go!
