In this lesson, we will investigate homophones in detail, learn what homophones are, and explore the meaning of words in depth, spotting spelling rules.

Task
Your spellings are different to the ones in the video but they are still homophones.
Your task it to write a sentence for each word, from your spelling list, to show how it is different to the other spelling.
Mild
Write 4 sentences. That means 2 pairs of homophones from this week’s spellings.
Spicy
Complete a sentence for each spelling.
Hot
Write 1 sentence that uses both versions of the homophone but still makes perfect sense. Here is an example using the homophone: knight/night
One dark, mysterious night, a knight in shining armour came hurtling down the track.
