English

Today, you are being the authors and trying to imagine an alternative beginning for our stories!

You are Roald Dahl, J.K.Rowling or David Walliams for a day! What would you write to 'hook' your readers into your story?

Use the success criteria to help you think about what you should include in your story beginning. Choose your challenge:

Mild - Use capital letters for the start of sentences and full stops, exclamation marks or question marks at the end. Use adjectives to describe your characters and settings.

Spicy - Use all of the above. Also include similes and expanded noun phrases (two adjectives to describe each noun).

Hot - Use all of the above. Also include alliteration and fronted adverbials. (for example: All of a sudden, the boy....)
