RECAP- What is a suffix?
Revise suffixes taught so far est, ed, ful, ly, es, s
Introduce ness and ment. Write 6 words using these suffixes and see if you can put them into sentences. Don't forget, a 'y' changes to an 'i' when adding 'ness' e.e happy = happiness

Session 3 -
If possible, look at a range of non-fiction and fiction books. Look at the front covers initially, ‘what type of book do you think this is?’ ‘How do you know?’
Allow time to explore non-fiction and fiction books and discuss similarities and differences. What do you notice about the non-fiction books? Do you have to read them in order? What do they have to help you find information?
Session 4 -
Have a read of the Polar bear text and try to answer the questions. Use the answers to check you were right .
