About this class

PE Days:

Indoor (Wednesday)

Outdoor (Thursday)

Comfortable, weather appropriate shoes and clothing should be worn.

No cropped tops please!

Reading & Phonics:

We are passionate about children learning to read; we ask that grown ups read with their children at least 3 days a week and record this by signing their child’s reading record.

Reading books will be changed every Friday to correspond with our phonics sessions.

All children will have hourly phonics lessons every day. We follow the ELS Phonics scheme (Essential Letters and Sounds).

Spellings:

Spellings will be given on a Thursday and will be tested the following Thursday. Spellings correspond to the sounds that children have been learning in their Phonics lessons.

Please see your child's reading record for their weekly spellings; some children may be given additional/alternative spellings to practice.

In English, we will be building our confidence in writing by using our writing toolkit to help us. We will be using lots of engaging stories to help inspire us!

In Science, we will continue to explore the seasons of Spring and Summer, as well as investigating the properties of materials.

In DT, we will be designing our own healthy smoothies for a lucky target audience ...

In PE, we will be building on our Gymnastics skills (indoor) and learning fundamental skills to aid in team games (outdoor).

In History, we will be trying to answer the question 'Did my grandparents play with toys like mine?".

In Computing, we will be exploring Digital Writing.

In Year 3, we've been learning about how muscles help our limbs to move. This afternoon, we've had fun in 3BM making our own 'moving' arms, learning abut what happens when the muscles contract and relax.

Look at how amazing year 2's owls are! We designed these based on our artist ‘Shielah Tracy’ work. We have learnt the technique weaving and added a range of appropriate materials.

🎲 Dungeons and Dragons - Act 3 Our group of adventurers stocked up on supplies and a few interesting spell scrolls from a small, failing buisness. After snacking on some questionable bread rolls and meat products, the party headed towards Tharley's farm to investigate the disappearing sheep and mysterious goings on. The party discovered a rather terrified Tharley who had locked himself in his home ... he soon became too overwhelmed and shut the door in our heroes faces. Navi used a Scroll of Animal Speaking and suddenly ... one of Tharley's sheep began to make sense - introducing the extremely impressive, rather magnificent and definitely-a-wizard-not-a-sorcerer-there's-a-DIFFERENCE NAVI - the one and only Zephyrus. Something baaaaaaaa'd this way comes ... 🐑

In Foundation Stage we have been learning about Ramadan and why it is important to some Muslims. It is a time to reflect on being the best person you can be, like being kind and thoughtful. A time to be thankful and to help others. Ramadan begins with the sighting of a new crescent moon. We have been making sun catchers in the shape of lanterns. the lantern represents light guiding the way and in some countries, it is traditional to illuminate the streets at night during the holy month of Ramadan.
